Am Sonntag, 17 Februar traten 6 Mädchen aus der U10-Trainingsgruppe beim UBS Kids Cup Team-Wettbewerb (Lokalauscheidung) in Stein am Rhein an.

Dabei waren Christina Dohmen, Leonie Heiderich, Livia Hilti, Lily Thöni, Marleen Qerimi und Zoe Wollscheid.

Die Mannschaft startete leicht gehandicapt, denn Zoe fühlte sich nach einer Grippe noch geschwächt und hatte Bedenken, ob sie überhaupt antreten könnte. Doch mit der tollen mentalen Unterstützung ihrer Team-Kolleginnen starteten die Sechs in die erste Disziplin, der Pendel-Staffel «UBS Goldsprint» und liefen mit 98.2 Sekunden eine hervorragende Zeit. Mit einer Strafsekunde bedacht (wegen eines Übergabefehlers) resultierte der 3. Rang bei dieser ersten Disziplin.

Im «Weltklasse Zürich Sprung», bei dem die besten von je 2 Sprüngen jedes Teammitglieds zusammengezählt werden, erreichten sie ebenfalls den 3. Rangplatz.

Nach einer Umbaupause startete dann die 3. Disziplin, der Biathlon. Hierbei starten alle 6 Teammitglieder und laufen insgesamt 3 Minuten. Pro absolvierte Laufrunde gibt es einen Punkt (Runde zählt, wenn Ball aus Kübel genommen wird; sobald keine Kegel mehr stehen, zählen nur noch Runden). Ebenso gibt es pro Markierkegel, der von der Bank „geschossen» wird einen Zusatz-Punkt. Die Trefferquote war mit 4 von 15 Kegeln nicht so hoch, dafür liefen die sechs Mädchen aber insgesamt 34 Runden, so dass am Ende der 4. Rang heraussprang.

Die letzte Disziplin, der Team-Cross, wird als Staffel ausgeführt, bei der jedes Team-Mitglied 2x laufen muss. Die Strecke führt dabei über Hürden, Matten und durch einen Slalom-Parcours. Besonders erwähnenswert, dass Lily fast einen Schuh verlor, sich aber ins Ziel rettete und an ihre Mannschaftskollegin Marleen übergeben konnte. Hier erreichte das Team den 3. Rang, so dass gesamthaft auch der 3. Platz und damit ein Platz auf dem Podest heraussprang. Damit hat sich das Sextett für das Regionalfinal am 17. März in Frauenfeld qualifiziert!
