Wie im letzten Jahr war Uster wieder Austragungsort der Schweizermeisterschaften über 10‘000m und 3000m Steeple. Bedingt durch die Covid19 Restriktionen konnten aber viel weniger Teilnehmer starten und Zuschauer waren gänzlich ausgeschlossen. Während 2020 trotz Beschränkungen eine tolle Stimmung herrschte, blieb der Wettkampf in diesem Jahr etwas stimmungslos. 

Meeting 800m
Als Vorprogramm bot der Veranstalter den MittelstrecklerInnen erstmals in diesem Jahr die Möglichkeit, einen 800m-Lauf zu bestreiten. Bei den Männern konnten insgesamt fünf Läufer des LCR-Runningteams starten. 
Dominik Reich gelang es, die erste Serie mit einer neuen PB von 1:52.87 zu gewinnen. Mit dieser PB verdrängte Dominik seinen Trainer Gian Marco in der Allzeitbestenliste des LCR um 1/100 Sekunden und liegt nun auf dem 9. Rang. Zudem lief er die zwei Bahnrunden so schnell wie seit 2013 kein LCR Läufer mehr. Ebenfalls ein gutes Resultat konnte Timo Roth erzielen. Mit 1:55.35 blieb er zwar noch deutlich über seiner PB aus dem Jahr 2017, zeigte aber, dass ihm dies mit der vorhandenen Form noch in dieser Saison gelingen wird. 
Unser jüngstes Runningteam-Mitglied, Guilherme Santos (Thuner Trainingspartner von Robin Oester) verpasste seine PB vom letzten Jahr mit der Zeit von 1:54.76 nur ganz knapp. In einer schnelleren Serie fällt diese mit Sicherheit bereits im nächsten Lauf. 
In seinem erst zweiten 800m Lauf gelang Omid Shams in der 3. Serie ein optimaler Lauf, den er mit der neuen PB von 1:56.99 beendete. Jetzt fehlt nur noch eine knappe Sekunde bis zur SM-Limite.
Während 600m lag Luca Bass lange gut im Rennen, ehe er auf den letzten 200m eine Zeit von unter 2 Minuten knapp verpasste.

Bei den Frauen erhielten zwei Läuferinnen eine Startgelegenheit über 800m.
Im leider etwas gar kleinen Feld der Frauen, konnte Nadine Allemann sehr lange den beiden Spitzenläuferinnen folgen und verbesserte ihre Bestzeit mit 2:17.56 um beinahe zwei Sekunden. 
Leana Wanner wechselte im Herbst vom 400m Hürdentraining zum Mittelstreckentraining. Dass sie das sehr gut machte, zeigt sich nun eindrücklich. Wie mit Trainer Gian Marco abgesprochen, „klettete“ sie sich an die Fersen von Nadine und konnte ihr bis kurz vor dem Ziel „dranbleiben“. Als Lohn verbesserte sie die PB auf 2:18.85 und erreichte bereits in ihrem zweiten 800er die SM-Limite!

Schweizermeisterschaften 3000m Steeple
Vor einem Jahr gewann Loris Pellaz, damals noch im Tenue seines Heimatvereins DSG Sierre, zwei Medaillen an der Schweizermeisterschaft über 3000m Steeple. Weil er im ersten Rennen dieses Jahres zu offensiv angelaufen ist und am Schluss etwas „einging“, startete er trotz den sehr starken Trainingsleistungen leicht verunsichert. Loris konnte von Beginn an immer in der Spitzengruppe mitlaufen und somit die Übersicht über die Hindernisse und den Wassergraben behalten. Auch die Temposteigerung nach 2000m konnte er mitgehen und bis dahin auf dem 3. Platz laufenden mehrfachen Schweizermeister Marco Kern distanzieren. Mit einer sehr schnellen letzten Runde in knapp 66 Sekunden lief Loris auf den ausgezeichneten 3. Rang. Nebst der Broncemedaille bei den Aktiven gewann er auch noch die Silbermedaille in der Kategorie U23. Seine PB verbesserte er um12 Sekunden auf 9:03.01 und näherte sich der Limite für die U23-Europameisterschaften in Tallin, bis auf fünf Sekunden. Wäre das Rennen in den ersten beiden Runden nicht so stark „verbremst“ worden, wäre die Limite mit Sicherheit bereits gefallen. In der Bestenliste ist Loris nun offiziell der schnellste LCR-Steepleläufer.

Schweizermeisterschaften 10‘000m
Durch die restriktive Limite startete beim 10‘000m Lauf ein deutlich kleineres Feld als noch im letzten Jahr. Unser Orientierungsläufer Timo Suter (12. der OL Sprint-EM) und starker Mittelstreckler zeigte, dass er auch eine ausgezeichnete Grundlagenausdauer besitzt. Angetreten, mit dem Ziel eine Zeit von 31‘30“ Sekunden zu laufen, realisierte er mit einem sehr regelmässigen Tempo alle Zwischenzeiten in der Zielvorgabe. Mit einem letzten Kilometer in 3:01 lief Timo auf den 14. Rang und belegte im Klassement der Schweizer den guten 7. Rang. Die neue PB bringt Timo in der TopTen-Bestenliste des LCR auf den ausgezeichneten 4. Rang.
Samira Schnüriger konnte bis fast zur Hälfte des Rennes mit der nachmaligen Dritten der SM mithalten, verlor dann aber zunehmend an Tempo und gab das Rennen nach sechs Kilometern auf. 

Fazit und Dank
Obwohl seit Beginn der Covid19 Pandemie unsere beiden Trainer mehr als doppelt so viel Zeit in die Vorbereitung und die Trainings- und Wettkampfbetreuung investieren müssen, gelang es offensichtlich, eine generelle Leistungssteigerung in allen Belangen zu realisieren. Dass in den ersten Wochen der Outdoorsaison und dem nur begrenzten Wettkampfangebot schon praktisch Alle persönliche Bestzeiten erreichen konnten, ist unglaublich, aber wahr. Innerhalb von 24 Stunden absolvierten LäuferInnnen des LCR Runningteams in Uster und am Samstag in Zofingen insgesamt 25 Starts, wovon bei 18 neue persönliche Bestzeiten resultierten.
