Am Sonntag, den 27. Februar fand der UBS Kids Cup Team-Wettbewerb in Baar statt. Erstmalig waren an diesem Wettbewerb ein Team der U12-Boys vom LCR und zwei Mixed-Teams unserer jüngsten U10-Trainingsgruppe gemeldet. Während in der Kategorie der U12-Boys 10 Mannschaften starteten, waren in der U10-Mixed-Kategorie 9 Mannschaften am Start.

Um 13.30 begann der Wettbewerb, bei dem die Teams 4 Disziplinen (Sprint,Sprung,Biathlonund Team Cross) zu absolvieren hatten. Alle Disziplinen sind auch auf der website http://www.ubs-kidscup.ch/team/de/info/disziplinen.htmlausführlich erläutert.

Bei den U12-Boys stand zuerst der «Ringli-Sprint» auf dem Programm und danach ging es zum «Zonen-Weitsprung». Die sechs Jungen (Levin Beyeler, Joris Herzog Manuel Rojano, Gion Andri Meier, Joel Sigrist und Max Wollscheid) schlossen den Sprint auf Rang 5 und den Sprung auf Rang 4 ab.

Die U10-Teams absolvierten zuerst den sog. «Weltklasse Zürich Sprung» bei dem sie die Möglichkeit hatten, sich an 6 verschiedenen Weiten auszuprobieren. Anschliessend kam der «UBS-Goldsprint», eine Pendelstaffel, bei dem jeder der sechs Teammitglieder 4x16m zu sprinten hatte.

Das U10 Mixed-Team LCR 1 (Lina Rindle, Aline Steinlin, Jula Schwedhelm, José Maria Rojano Feris Khachane und Alejandro Wilhelm) schloss beide Disziplinen mit dem ersten Rang ab. Das U10-Mixed-Team LCR 2 (Fabrice Siegrist, Olusadé Onabanjo, Leonie Heiderich, Davide Argano, Marleen Qerimi und Zoe Wollscheid) erreichte beim Sprung Rang 7 und beim Sprint Rang 5.

Nach einer längeren Umbaupause in der sich die Athleten und Athletinnen wieder stärken konnten, startete der Biathlon-Wettkampf. Hier erreichten die U12-Boys vom LCR einen hervorragenden 2. Rang. Bei den U10-Mixed Teams erreichte das Team LCR1 wiederum Rang 1 und das Team LCR2 den 5. Rang.

Nach einer weiteren Umbaupause folgte die letzte Disziplin des Tages, der Team-Cross. Die U12-Boys vom LCR gaben alles, um auch hier an das gute Biathlon-Resultat anzuknüpfen. Am Ende reichte es zu Rang 5 und in der Gesamtwertung zum 4. Rang und einem knapp verpassten Podestplatz und der damit nur hauchdünn verpassten Qualifikation für das Regionalfinal.

Im letzten Team-Cross-Wettbewerb des Tages starteten dann die U10-Mixed-Mannschaften. Die Startläuferin Lina Rindle des LCR1-Teams, die übrigens an diesem Tag ihren Geburtstag feierte, konnte sich im dichten Gedränge und trotz eines kurzen Stolperns knapp die Führung erkämpfen bevor sie den Stab übergab. In der Folge bauten die anderen Teammitglieder des LCR1-Teams den Vorsprung auf die Konkurrenz unaufhörlich aus und gewannen auch diese Disziplin. Das LCR2-Team konnte anfänglich das hohe Tempo noch mitgehen, am Ende beendeten sie diese Disziplin dann aber auf Rang 8.

Gesamthaft beendeten die U10-Mixed-Teams LCR 1+2 den Wettkampf auf Platz 1 und 6. Die LCR1-Mannschaft hat sich somit für den Regionalfinal in Zürich am 9. März qualifiziert!

Es war für alle teilnehmenden Jung-Athleten und -Athletinnen ein ereignisreicher und toller Wettkampftag, bei dem sie alle ihre ganz persönlichen Erfolge feiern durften und zusätzlich den gemeinsamen Erfolg im Team. Und wenn man dann noch von den eigenen Eltern so enthusiastisch angefeuert wird! Was will man mehr und was gibt es schöneres als gemeinsame Erlebnisse?!

Wir Trainer (Carrie & Marcus) hatten jedenfalls riesig Spass und wir danken Arlette und Gian, die kurzfristig die mentale und physische Betreuung der U12-Boys übernommen haben!
