Was für tolle Nachrichten, gleich drei LCR-Athleten haben sich für die Cross-EM am 12.12.2021 in Dublin qualifiziert und dürfen die Schweiz vertreten.
Nebst Jonas Raess, welcher bereits zum sechsten Mal an den kontinentalen Meisterschaften starten wird und zum erweiterten Kreis der Medaillenanwärter gezählt werden darf, wurde auch Urs Schönenberger von SwissAthletics für das Langcross über 10’000m der Männer selektioniert. Seine erste Teilnahme an einem Grossanlass ist für Urs einen Riesenerfolg und zeigt die unglaubliche Leistungssteigerung, welche er sich in den letzten beiden Jahren erarbeitet hat.
Zusammen mit Julien Wanders und Joey Hadorn darf das Schweizer Männerteam sicher auch auf ein gutes Mannschaftsergebnis hoffen.
Bei der Mixed-Staffel über 6000m, bestehend aus zwei Frauen und zwei Männern, konnte sich auch unsere 800m Läuferin Selina Fehler am Wisacher Cross in Topform präsentieren und darf zusammen mit Lore Hoffmann, Jonas Schöpfer und Michael Curti über 4x 1500m antreten. Das ist nach der Teilnahme an der U23-EM 2019 Selina‘s zweites Nati-Aufgebot.
Neben den drei Athleten wird auch der LCR Runningteam Headcoach Gian Marco Meier als Trainer für SwissAthletics in Dublin im Einsatz stehen.
